I am looking at used cellphones for Verizon and looking into the sprint SERO netowork and ATT for cell service to get that going again?

What cell service do you have?

Do you like them overall?

First, what's wrong with:

Daddy like.

Second,

Good router, even if you can't use dd-wrt. Wireless router + laptops = lan party.

Third.. I'm happy with SERO. But I'm in a metro area.

I'm not wanting to add in MORE wireless networking action into the mix. I already have wireless internet, which I'm about to ditch. But the wireless internet, plus wireless router, plus wireless network connection to phone? Nah, I'll pass.

I also don't like wireless gaming, or wireless mice. Batteries have died on me in critical game play resulting in my death in many a FPS on the mouse front, and my house is really bad when it comes to wireless signals for cell phones and routers as far as signal reach, because of groundless plugs and other things; I try to stay away from the whole ordeal as much as possible.

Explain why you stipulated that you're in a metro area, again? If not in a metro area, does that mean no data, or no free data? Does it mean a headache? hmm...

You get data and you get free data, but you get slower data. Think 50-70kbps instead of 600-1400kbps. Decent data rate, but not great.

Also, not nearly as many towers. You get roaming, but only on compatible networks. And depending on the quality of your phone, you may get dropouts as you get out in the very rural areas.

Also, I like the Skype phone I chose because eventually I might get a land line and use it dual purpose. Especially depending on how 'local' the local Skype number is.

Verizon has the WORST customer service, but the best (in my experience) cell phone service. I never have dropped calls, bad reception, etc. And most of my friends and family have Verizon too.

We have Verizon and have had for several many years now. We started off with Cingular when we lived in Belleview. It sucked. My brother and some friends of mine have it, now, and they say it's great.

We went to Sprint from there. That didn't last long, either. Also sucked.

So we switched to Verizon. Been there ever since. Our phones pick up even way out here where we live. There are a very few spots where they don't. Call quality is good. We like.

I have AT&T because of the discount. Customer service is good, cell signals are good unless I'm in the basement or winding around some mountainous hill by my house. I don't really have any complaints.
